Villa Balmoral
Our client approached us to revitalise this home; they wanted us to rethink some areas that felt tired and bring them new life and light.
This family house is gloriously nested some steps from the iconic Balmoral beach, Mosman. The proximity to the water and the family’s lifestyle called for some relaxed interiors with a stylish look.
This home had some dark critical areas that need to be addressed. The central hallway was one of them. As the main entertainment room entrance faced this hallway, we replaced a single door with the installation of double-panelling glass doors. This brought the north light into the corridor, giving this space a more alive welcome to the house.
Another place was the kitchen, where the whole layout was re-arranged to bring a more dynamic and agile floor plan ready for entertaining and living.
We changed the 80’s orange timber floor throughout the house and replaced it with French oak wide panels; this brought the house a handsome style.
All lighting and doorware were changed to more up-to-date standards.
Bathrooms were given a new design, and all sanitary ware was updated with the timeless brush brass VOLA tap-ware products.
The house’s exterior was ready for a total rethink of tones and colours, and exterior flooring was to be replaced by stunning Pantera cobblestone.
We love to source new and pre-loved objects. From kitchenware and furniture to art pieces, we were to execute everything. This shows the kind of trust our clients have deposited in us, given that the client had commissioned three other projects.
A beach house always needs to bring the outdoors in and vice-versa, which is why the BBQ and entertainment area were given a smart yet very relaxed mood treatment.
The landscape was designed and executed again by a lifelong family friend, Andrew Candy.
